I am a former photojournalist and have always loved old news photographs.

TimeShots: past to present  re-photography
I stood on the corner of 25th street and 5th avenue to try and duplicate this turn-of-the-century photograph. Since the streets are much wider now, I was nearly run over by cabs trying to duplicate the middle-of-the-street angle. Unlike the original photographer, though, I didn't have to worry about stepping in any horse manure!

The Flatiron Building at 23rd Street and Broadway in New York City is a timeless landmark. These two views show a similar scene from 1903 and 2003.
